A few years ago while I was a cadet at the California Maritime Academy I came across an origional ring buoy as well as a laundry sack that was from the Missouri. If anyone is interested in these items let me know.

I know a crew member who'd give most of the blood out of his body for that lifering. Let me know if you still have it. I'll contact him.

In '55, when the Missouri returned to Bremerton,Wa., a sailor fell overboard, and the body, hanging onto a lifering with USS Missouri markings, washed up on the beach of my grandparents home on South Marine Drive in Bremerton. After a call to the Naval yard, a van pulled in the driveway, and two sailors placed the body in a bodybag, and loaded it into the van, leaving the lifering on the beach. I possess this lifering today, and am attempting to piece together the details of this sad event. Family members present then have since passed away.Being somewhat web-illiterate, I'm not having much luck. Atempting to acquire any info relating to identity, circumstances, and anything pertaining. Also interested in the possible collectibility and possible value of such an item to a professional collector. Thanx for any help you can provide me. Deeply appreciated!! God Bless.
